Lenovo has launched its new budget Android tablet, the Yoga A12 device, with the addition of the Halo keyboard. Focused on the budget market, the Lenovo Yoga A12 is promoted as a tablet for productivity.

It is a more affordable alternative to the premium Yoga Book 2-in1. The new and improved features in this tablet make it a good package for budget-conscious consumers, who look for flexibility and productivity in a tablet-laptop combo. Currently, the device is available at a starting price of $299 and is available in Gunmetal Grey and Rose Gold colors.

Device Specifications

The Yoga A12 features a thin body profile measuring 5.4 mm, making it super compact. It has very slim edges and weighs less than a kilogram that makes it ideal for carrying around. The tablet is powered by an Intel Atom x5 processor with 2 GB of RAM and has 32 GB of internal storage space.

The display measures 12.2 inches and offers HD resolution video output. Apart from that, the Dolby Atmos feature incorporated into the device will ensure quality audio over its two speakers. The A12 device contains a hybrid UI along with some of the preloaded productivity apps from Google.

The Halo Keyboard

The Halo keyboard is one of the notable additions of the A12 tablet. The inclusion of this keyboard enhances the ease of usage of this tablet and makes Yoga A12 ideal for productivity uses.

Halo keyboard is a pioneering innovation offered by Lenovo featuring a flat design and touch home buttons. It also comes with a built-in prediction and artificial learning software that adapts to the users typing habits to make the process easier.

Advanced Features

Flexibility is another major offering from the A12 tablet, as its 360-degree Yoga hinge supports up to four configurations. The device has an aluminum and magnesium build and therefore makes it highly durable. Lenovo claims that the tablet offers approximately 13 hours of battery life in one charge.

A press release from Lenovo stated that, “In our constant search to create different and better products, we listened to hundreds of users from New York to Delhi tell us about their computing needs and operating systems of choice.”

“We found a segment of users who grew up with Android as their first-ever computing experience-either on their family tablet or a personal smartphone. This held especially true in emerging markets. For these users, Android and productivity weren’t mutually exclusive-the smartphone or tablet experience can be seamlessly extended to the personal computer. That’s why we created the Yoga A12.”
