Sony has always impressed us with its great devices in both the smartphone and tablet lineup. The Japanese electronics conglomerate has maintained its trademark technological innovations and design in all of its devices. The Xperia Z2 is no exception and is another device in the small lineup of tablets offered by Sony.

The 10.1-inch tablet comes loaded with Sony’s trademark TV and Audio technologies making it an ideal entertainment and gaming platform. Released as a replacement to the previous Xperia Z model, the Xperia Z2 packs more innovative features and is available in most wholesale tablets sites. Described below is a general review of the Sony Xperia Z2 tablet.

Design

The Xperia Z2 delights with its bitter slim body profile that measures only 6.4 mm in thickness and weighs 426 grams. The front portion of the tablet features an all-glass design without any physical buttons. The display is surrounded by black bezels and has taken quite a lot space on every side.

Some experts say that while holding in the hand the design of Xperia Z2 feels less durable than other tablets. However, the waterproof feature of the tablet supplements this lacking on the design front. The main ports such as microSD card slot and USB port are covered with flaps except for the 3.5 mm headphone jack port.

Display

The Xperia Z2 consists of a 10.1-inch display providing Full HD (1920 x 1200) pixel resolution. With a pixel density of 224 PPI, the display offers excellent clarity and reproduction of color. The inbuilt Sony TV technologies such as TRILUMINOS have perfectly optimized the display for mobile viewing without compromising on the quality of the image and rendition of color.

The super crisp display is a delight for any user looking for great entertainment and gaming experiences. The display also features the IPS technology that offers good viewing angles and brightness, which is perfect for outdoor uses.

Processor

A quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor along with 3 GB of RAM powers the Xperia Z2. The tablet has performed surprisingly well in most of the benchmark tests and can handle high-end graphics, games, and applications effortlessly. The navigations in the Android OS interface prove quite smooth on the device without any lags.

Battery

One of the disappointing features of the Xperia Z2 is its battery life. It manages out to last for about 13 hours during continuous usage, which is quite average when considering the battery capacity of similar high-end tablets. Despite the Stamina Mode, the Xperia Z2 battery manages in offering only little backup during peak usage.
